Mr. Ronald Thompson

Ronald Paul Thompson of Albertville, Alabama, was perfectly healed on February 19, 2017, as he went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ronald was born on August 1, 1939, in Albertville, Alabama. He is a 1957 graduate of Albertville High School and a 1961 graduate of Jacksonville State University. At Jacksonville State, he met the love of his life Pat Keahey, and they married in 1961. Ronald earned and received a commission of a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, and upon graduation, returned to Albertville, where he practiced law. During his career, he also served as municipal judge for the City of Albertville and as Marshall County District Attorney. Ronald was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Albertville, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and was recently elected a deacon emeritus. Ronald's joy was found in the Lord, his family, and his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Evelyn Thompson, and his sister, Carole Thompson Roebuck. Thanking the Lord for his life are his wife, Pat, and his daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Tim Wannemuehler and Tara and Bill Bostick, and his grandchildren, Lauren and John Trippe, Bradley Bostick, Matt Wannemuehler, and Holly Bostick. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carl Roebuck, Jeanette and Dallas Storms, Sue and Wayne Keahey, and Peggy Blue, as well as many nieces and nephews. There may never be a closer group of friends than those in John Chastain's Sunday school class at First Baptist Church of Albertville. Ronald was so grateful and blessed on a daily basis to be a part of that group. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the First Baptist Church of Albertville, The Marshall Cancer Center, Shepherd's Cove Hospice, and his wonderful caregivers. Visitation will be held at Adams-Brown Service Funeral Home in Albertville, Alabama, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. The Celebration of Ronald Thompson's life will be held at First Baptist Church of Albertville at 11:00 a.m. on February 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Albertville, The Thompson House-Child Advocacy Center of Marshall County, and Marshall Cancer Center.
